Formatting
Formatting of all pages is done by style sheet and they are all
HTML5 conformant.
As a leftover from the initial version of these pages, they
are only 730 pixels wide and divided into columns. The left margin
is 160 pixels wide and fixed to show the menu independent of
scrolling. After 10 pixels spacing follow 560 pixels scrollable
content, mostly divided into a tag and a text column.
Structure
This page layout is part of the initial web site concept.
The site's structure is always on the far left side, followed
by the page's structure in the tag column and the page's content
in the text column. Put another way: chapters, sections,
and paragraphs.
Each page has a light red header
line qualifying its "location" or context, as well as
a dark blue caption denoting its
topic.
Navigation
Main means of navigation is the menu on the left margin.
You can reach the main page and all direct subpages. To the
main page and some subpages, there are sub-sub pages referred
to only by a link in the text.
At top and bottom of each page there is a
grey navigation bar
by which you can reach most of the respective super-, sub-,
and neighbour pages. The following symbols are used in the
navigation bars:

Pages that are not reachable by menu or navigation bar
are still reachable not only by their links in the text.
There is a site map which
gives a pretty good overview of all pages of this web site.
The browser will show help items,
especially descriptions of the choices (links) in the
menu, in navigation bars, image maps, and the site map.
Just let the mouse pointer hover over an item.
Font
We try to set a font for these web pages.
If your browser will not show it, you may set Verdana, Arial,
Helvetica or a similar sans-serif font as the variable
width browser font for good-looking pages.
Links
We set suitable link colours and deactivate
link underlining in your browser for better readability
(as we understand it).
Links not used so far are in light red,
links visited before in dark blue.
Active links you're just viewing are in medium blue,
and links the mouse pointer is hovering over or that have
gotten the window focus by moving with the tab key are in
pure red.
